Who can receive Holy Communion? Our Communion is "open" which means that all who come forward will be offered Communion. Those who choose not to receive are encouraged to come forward for a blessing from the pastor.What is "Confirmation"? Confirmation (often called "Affirmation of Baptism) is a rite in which young adults publicly acknowledge their faith. This usually follows two years of preparation (normally 7th & 8th grades).Do I have to be a member to worship at Peace Lutheran Church? No. Many folks who worship regularly with us are not members for a variety of reasons. We do invite those who worship with us to become members, but it is not necessary.What do you believe about the Bible? We teach that the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and the authoritative source and norm for our preaching, teaching, and life.What is the role of women in your church? We do not differentiate between men and women for any role in the church. You will find both women and men preaching, presiding at Holy Communion, teaching a Bible study, serving a dinner, or raking the yard.At what age do you baptize? We believe that baptism is a sacrament from which we receive grace (undeserved love and acceptance from God ). It is not necessary to understand what is happening for a person to receive God's grace. Therefore, we offer Holy Baptism to people of all ages. More often than not, you will see infants baptized during a worship servce.Do I have to be baptized again? We believe that Baptism is a sacrament that happens because God is involved. We use water and the Word, and God does the rest. Baptism only needs to take place once. Through it, we are adopted into God's family.
