Peace Lutheran Church is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), the largest body of Lutherans in North America.   We have been a part of the Manhattan Community since 1965.   As a member of the ELCA we practice "open Communion" which means all baptized Christians who believe that Christ is present in the Bread and Wine are invited to receive Holy Communion.   Children begin to receive Communion in the 2nd grade.

 

Each Sunday during the School year we offer Sunday School classes and Bible Study for children and adults (pre-school -- 105 years old!).   We have a staffed nursery available during all Worship services and Sunday School.  During the week we have Bible Studies, Book Studies, Wednesday night dinners, Confirmation Instruction for 7th & 8th graders, choir practice, Evening Prayer, and a number of other opportunities for fellowship and study.
